Next it was a hike over to Hall 2 for some motherboard manufacturer goodness – we dropped in on Foxconn who had some X38 samples (as seemingly does everyone, although we won’t see them in the market until August), however the weird always grabs out attention, and so we present the bizarrest concept product for Vista Sideshow ever:
 | | It’s… something. |
Of course there was plenty of other weird things as well.
 | | Goths and USB, together at last. |
 | | External drive cases for the ladies. |
Like many of the vendors on the floor, Gigabyte had both Intel’s X38 and AMD’s 790 chipset based boards in action.

We also had our first glimpse at some new mainstream cards, Gigabyte’s GeForce 8400 for the NVIDIA side, and Palit’s impressively large Radeon HD2400 series in the AMD corner.

That’s all for today – check in tomorrow for our tour of the Gigabyte factory, and finally on Saturday for a huge report where we dig up everything not yet seen, and endeavour to include as many booth babes as possible to make up for their reduced presence in today’s and tomorrow’s reports.
